This series of paintings explores the perfection and beauty of the logarithmic spiral.
Snails and spirals exist amongst scratchy thorns and stunted trees or harsh landscapes sometimes within the confines of boxes. True wilderness is rapidly shrinking and the land being constantly parceled up for human purposes. But life, whether visible or invisible (if we don't look) will persist in all it's sublime and infinite forms.
For this series I experimented with a limited palette so I'm only using alizarin crimson, cadmium yellow, ivory black, titanium white and the very occasional dab of ultramarine. I learnt so much about mixing and understanding colour. The paintings are either oil on board or acrylic on paper. Sizes and prices listed
