...thanks for dropping by! As you'll see I paint primarily in oils, occasionally in acrylic and also produce hand-cut collages and that I am influenced by Surrealism. The core of my inspiration comes from the sense of magic I experience when I see the intertwined worlds and infinate layers found in nature, the subjects that appear are usually within eyesight of my current location of Northumberland. You'll find many of my favourite subjects like birds, snails or trees but my compositions also reflect what I see in my imagination. It's a mixture of imagination and observation.
I recently opened a gallery in Hexham, Northumberland -every town needs a Surrealist art gallery after all!
You can find me here....

Thur-Sat 10-4pm
very often Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well most likely at the easel conjouring something up (or just drinking coffee)
Come and have a look at the REAL thing!
I have just started representing other like-minded surreal leaning artists so the walls are bursting with imagination, colour and curiousness.
The reoccurring natural elements in my paintings - birds, snails, entangled branches, stunted trees etc - are combined with dreamlike elements which suggest themselves during the development of each painting...it's like the work takes on a life of its own.
How do birds see their world - that world of undergrowth and unlimited sky? This is a series of paintings of birds, based on studying their form and behaviour, combined with imagined insights into the parallel worlds inhabited by nature.
